My Family's Big Dinner

My Family’s Big Dinner
When my parents told me that we were going out tonight with nearly our whole family I got so excited that I nearly fell down the stairs. Not just because I get to catch up with my whole family I get a huge yum dinner and a big bowl of dessert. My eyes were about to pop out and it felt like I stubbed all my toes I was so excited.

When we got there there were only three people who had already turned up at the restaurant so we still had to wait for like another 16 people. We didn’t have to wait that long cause about a minute later everyone was piling in like pancakes piling up on a plate. There were still about 4 people to turn up so me and my brother looked out the  upstairs window at the restaurant. We were lucky to catch some action 2 minutes later when two men mistakenly drove through the square.

Finally the last of them came in and we were allowed to order our meals. My brother and I ordered a glass of LMP each and a plate of potato chips and calsur each. It took about 10 minutes for our meals to arrive at the dinner table and only 5 for our drinks. We had a good old chat about what we had been up to in the weekend. I had my chips they were good the calsur was okay I only had half because there were vegetables in there that I had never had before and didn’t like.

We had to wait for desert for 40 minutes because we all wanted to talk together so my brother and I asked if we could go down stairs and climb up the enormous tree outside. We dismounted our chairs and ran to the spiral staircase and jump down the stairs in a rush of excitement. Once we got to the double doors we shoved the open and raced to the tree. By the time we got there we were really exhausted we could barely climb the tree so we sat down and had a rest. The sky had shadowed over the square as if a UFO was going to land. The moon was closing in so we thought we better start having some fun before we couldn’t see anything. We climbed up the tree until we got to the highest place we could climb to. We started telling jokes and funny stuff.

We climbed back down when we had nothing to say any more. We walked back into the restaurant and asked our mum when the desert was coming she said in 10 minutes time so we decided to play chinese chopsticks I won nearly about all of the rounds lost a couple but o well not like it’s the olympic games.

Finally the dessert came. I got a bowl of caramel and cookie ice cream topped with rainbow sprinkles placed in front of me. It was really yum and sweet I was full after that.

Time went by and it was almost time to go back home so we all went down stairs one by one, said goodbye and left. What a cracking night it had been  I was about to fall asleep in the middle of the road as we cross over. Luckily it was a Saturday.

Once upon a time there was a school called Wayside school ,it was going to put on a production, they decided to make the play about Shakespeare and his dog Simon. They were running very late with time and they only had 3 days to practise! The students of Wayside school were so terrified that they wouldn't be able to assemble a production to all the parents.

It got closer they only had to three days to prepare, and they weren't practicing. Stacy the director and her annoying assistant casey got a bit anxious about it all She stomped into their rehearsal room and told them that they should Go practise! but know one was amused especially BB gun. Stacy couldn’t hear herself think, she heard a soft sounding voice tell them to listen to Stacy it was Mrs Jewels

The day eventually came and they hadn’t had any practise for it and all the tickets had been sold out and there was over 2,500 tickets made. All the kids from Wayside school were all nervous, the play finally began. It started off great there expression was marvelous, but they still didn't practise but atleast thats what stacy thought. Everything was acting out like it was practice but stacy had never seen them practise. But then BB gun came on she acted cool but then she felt a bit woozy and dizzy they were up to climax when the story has a turning point. She started to wobble, the crowd hopped up out of there seats and they all looked worried. The expressions on their faces was amazing well at least that’s what stacy thought. They calmed down and sat down.

They finally ending up and the lesson was learnt lesson learnt is that the show must go on they lived happy ever after.

Year 6 Speech

Year Six Leavers Speech

To make this speech not so boring  I’ll talk about all the cool and fun things I’ve gotten this to do. So let me start my journey as a new entrant about to enter room 18 where Miss Bradley was my teacher.

Miss Bradley was a really fun and nice teacher who introduced me to what a CSNS kid would do. One of the first activities that I got to experience at CSNS was jam tasting. We had to taste one teaspoon of jam and then write all about how it tasted. Unfortunately the jam tasted like beef. Another fun thing I got to do was make a t-shirt for the christmas carol concert. We each got a plain white t-shirt and had to paint something christmasy on it. I did a bright green christmas tree with yellow decorations. I would rate my first year at College Street 8/10.

A new year and I was a year 1. I was hoping this year was packed full of surprises. And sure it was. Mrs Worthington was a super duper fun teacher who really stamped a smile on my face. Room 22 was a room full of amazing learning activities. Now I can definitely say that 2011 wasn’t boring. I loved almost every task in the class. There was a lot to do it just kept getting better and better. One of my first memories I can remember was doing this really cool piece of Dinosaur art. It’s was covered in color and features. I would rate this year 10/10.

My year 2 at CSNS was with Mrs Felberg who taught in room 15. I noticed that Mrs Felberg had a passion on drawing so that’s when I started drawing. I now like to draw pictures when nobody is around and I then go and hide them. My favorite thing about 2012 was the reading. Their was a wide range of choices to choose from. After you've drawn a picture in your book from a book you can play computer games for the rest of the block.  It was also  fun writing your spelling words outside with a tube of chalk. I would rate this year 7/10.

As a year 3 my teacher was Mrs Algar. This was the first year I did Mathletics. I really enjoyed it because you got certificates & could buy stuff like clothing and accessories. It was also my first year of hockey. The season was a lot of fun, I enjoyed playing and my dad helped to coach which was cool. I would rate this year 7.5/10.

Year 4. Mr Bell the most crazy teacher you could ever have and when I say crazy I’m not just trying to make this speech sound funny. I’m trying to tell you that all his jokes really distracted me from my learning. I can definitely not remember anything from this year so I’m just gonna to willy nilly say this year was 7/10.

Year 5. YAY my dreams came true I finally got Mr Smith for my teacher. This year should be a real good one, and so it was. Moving up to the senior syndicate didn’t really bother me because my dad would always tell me what's right or wong and he said life is life. One thing I didn’t enjoy was being in a double class it was twice the size of a normal class which made it too loud and crowded. I really enjoyed marble season because I hit lots of marbles. Also school camp was awesome. There was a huge water slide which was fun because it was long, steep and fast. If it wasn’t for the double class I would rate this year 10/10.

Year 6. This year I have Mrs Langley she is a very fun teacher. I also have Mr Valentine as a co teacher. Once again I enjoyed school camp. There was a Burma Trail which was fun because it was pitch black, you couldn't see a thing and there were fake monster. However they didn’t scare me because I knew they were parents. There was also a lesson on how to make biscuits. I got to eat a couple. They were great because I helped make them and they tasted yum. I also enjoyed the school production because it was fun. The best parts were singing the songs and being on stage performing in front of my mum and brother. I played touch rugby for the first time in my life. I have really enjoyed learning a new sport, especially in the first term. This year I would rate it 7/10.

My time CSNS has been fun, I have learnt heaps of new things, had lots of good teachers and enjoyed the many activities. I feel I am now ready to head to PNINS for new challenges.

Athletics Day

Athletics Day
__________________________________________________________
I had a great successful day at my school athletics day. Competing in these events, long distance, Throw, Long jump, high jump, sprints and hurdles. Here is my poem about athletics day.
Athletics Day Poem
I sprinted faster than Jesse Owens,
I pushed a heavy ball as far as Tiger Woods could've hit a golf ball,
I jumped like the great Michael Jordan going for a slam dunk,
I ran like Peter Snell sprinting down the straight,
I hurdled like Omar McLeod jumping to victory,
And I leap like a frog trying to catch a fly.

PNINS VISIT
____________________________________________________________________________
Visiting Palmerston North Intermediate Normal School (PNINS) was pretty fun. I got a full tour round the school visiting all the rooms like the hard materials, drama room, science and a couple of the class’. I liked the look of the monkey bars their was small ones and large ones. There was also a large climbing frame planted at the end made out of rope. I also liked the sports gym. It was huge.

Overall I think it’s a really fun school and I’ll definitely go there.

Culture Festival!

Culture Festival!
___________________________________________________________________

The culture festival started with a bang. First we watched the IPU drummers from Japan perform in the school gym. They performed three outstanding performances that blew my socks off right onto Saturn. They whacked huge drums with thick wooden sticks. I couldn’t see the drums from where I was sitting so it looked they were murdering people by whacking their chest with the sticks. I noticed they were doing hand movements so they were in time with hitting the drum. Next it was room 5’s turn to step up, they were going to perform a dance. The dance was cool. Mrs Denison ask if they could perform it again so we had to watch it again.

It was time to go back to class to have a cultul shared lunch with room 5. I munched on one of Tama’s yummy pastry buns that were covered in this really sweet sauce it was literally the best thing I’ve ever had in my life! I then went out to play there was twenty minutes till the bell rings so I thought I’d just muck about  on the deck.

Finally it was time to share my learning about Tonga. Me and my friend, Jacey shared our learning and then got people to do a Kahoot all about what they had just learnt. We were doing our activity for forty minutes then we left to go and look around our class and GRill 2.0. In my class we learnt the Haka and carve our names into sand in Egyptian letters. We then headed of to GRill 2.0 to see what they had set up. They had a coloring in competition. You had to color in a hand that had lots of patterns on it. It looked so cool. I did lots of beautiful drawings it turned out great in the end.

What a fun afternoon I’ve had I wish I could do it again.

Earthquake!

Earthquake!
___________________________________________________________________________

12:02am 14.11.16
On Monday the 14th of November there was a 7.5 earthquake that rattled  lots of towns around New Zealand. The earthquake struck near Hamner Springs at 12:02am. I had woken up just before my mum was about to shake me like a fizzy bottle. I rapidly hopped out of bed and stumbled to my bedroom doorway. My house was shaking like a milkshake getting blended. It had been shaking for like a minute then finally the drama was over. My Dad came up to see if we were OK (we were.) My Dad shouted out to my brother who was still lying in his bed awake “Nelson what are you doing” he shouted back “well there’s not much I can do” my Dad then said “well, you can get down here right now.” I think it was quite rude to talk back to your Dad like that. “Well, what a rocking start to the day.”
